Once a week I have been writing a devotion to share with others along with a quick stretching and workout routine. I call it Workout and Worship. I have decided to start sharing some of the devotions and workouts publicly so that others can be encouraged and have access to a simple stretching and exercise routine that they may find beneficial. Today I am sharing about trust.
Today's Scripture
Isaiah 26:3-4 says, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
What is Trust
The definition of trust is “to place confidence in; rely on” and “to hope or expect confidently.” Trust is an action; therefore, it requires a certain mindset. Trust in Christ means we fix our minds on Him, not our circumstances. It means we remember and believe His promises despite what things may look like. Actions are not always easy, and doubt can often creep in if we do not keep our mindset of trust.
Beauty in Trust
When trust is present, there is beauty. So often we look to physical features for beauty, but I want to work to change the way we see beauty. I hope to make it something we look for in our virtues and characteristics… to create a broader view of beauty. Trust can give us security and confidence. It can help us overcome fear and obstacles, and yes, as the verse above says, it can provide peace. There is beauty in each of these…security, confidence, overcoming, and peace.
A God Worthy of Trust
We can praise God today that He is worthy of our trust because He is our unchanging, everlasting rock who keeps His promises.
