Restoration: From Worn Down to Beautiful

Do you ever feel beat up or weak? The feeling can come in the physical sense, emotional, mental, or spiritual. Life is not always easy. Many days we are faced with battles, and because we live in a broken world, we can get worn down. That does not make us less than…it makes us human.

There is Hope

In those times when we feel worn down, there is still hope and strength available to us. I love to watch home restoration shows. There is just something intriguing about watching a broken down home restored to beauty and become livable again.

"He restores my soul"

Restoration to strength and beauty is available to us as well. Throughout Scripture we see people and kingdoms restored. I find the promise in Psalm 23:3 comforting and encouraging. That verse says, “He restores my soul.” How beautiful that no matter how broken or worn down we feel, we have a God who gives us the hope of restoration.

Tools for Restoration

Are you at a place in your life where you feel you need to be restored? I encourage you to be gentle with yourself, take a moment to rest, trust God to restore you, and hold to His promises while doing things to take care of yourself. One the physical side, our bodies need rest, nourishment, and exercise. On the spiritual, mental, and emotional side we need rest, meditation on the good, and the practice of gratitude. We have been given tools to aid us in restoration, and our God will fulfill His promises to us. Let’s praise Him today as we go through a restorative stretching routine
